Golf Club Reviews

ChipsandYips.com is the #1 online site providing golfers with the best golf club reviews of new and used golf clubs. At the present time we have more than forty-five golf club reviews of primarily new but also a small number of unique, older golf clubs including, drivers, irons, wedges, rescue clubs, fairway woods, conventional putters and long and belly putters. Normally golf club manufacturers introduce their newest golf clubs towards the end of the year or in the first quarter of the new year.  That was the case for the end of 2011 and the beginning of  2012. As a retired Wall Street publishing research analyst I enjoy writing and with more than forty years on the golf course I have a solid understanding of golf club and golf shaft technology. Besides our golf club reviews, we will be reviewing and writing about other golf accessories and topics including, golf shoes and sneakers, golf course reviews, great new golf courses, golf vacation packages, golf club clones, and golf balls and gloves.

The purpose of our site is to provide quality, in depth golf club reviews looking at a variety of issues that golfers need to understand in evaluating the clubs they try out, see on TV or on their own course, or notice at the local pro shop or golf discount shop. Some of the issues we try to discuss in some detail in our golf club reviews include: the manufacturing and metallurical technology of the club head and shaft, comparisons to prior year’s models, the physics behind golf club design, the psychology of golf club marketing, and the perfromance of the clubs, including, the club’s looks, feel and sound. Each year most of the golf manufacturers make changes to most of their clubs, sometimes the changes are subtle, sometimes they are very significant and sometimes they are merely cosmetic. We hope our site will show golfers why they should seriously consider certain of the new clubs, depending on a number of circumstances, and why they should maybe stay with what they have in their bag.

ChipsandYips.com is relatively simple to navigate. On our home page, going from left to right at the very top of the page we show the different topics associated with golf but not including golf club reviews. Just below that, also going from left to right we have the different categories of golf clubs that we review including articles (usually reviews of older clubs), irons, drivers, wedges, utility or hybrid clubs, putters, belly putters, and fairway woods. For example, should you click on drivers, the site will bring you to nine different reviews of drivers. To the right going from top to bottom we have a golf review vault that captures golf club reviews written in each month and year.  On all of our  golf club reviews we have at least two pictures to compliment and reinforce the written review and in many cases we have one or more videos of instructors or other knowledgeable persons testing the club under review on a golf course or golf mat. Finally, on many of the reviews we have links to affiliates should you be interested in purchasing the clubs under review.  On the right side near the bottom we have a blogroll which gives authoritative sites to use for further information on golf.  Some of the topics include books written by Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan, as well as discussions on the short game and other topics.

We suggest that if you have a particular club you have seen on your golf course or at a tournament or somewhere else and you want to know something more about the club, you check out our site, ChipsandYips.com and see if we have a review of that club. If we do just let your fingers do the walking and see what we have to say. If we do not have a review please do not hesitate to make a comment and we will look into a possible review in the future. We appreciate your interest in our website and hope you will find it useful and enjoyable to you.

As a final point we have written nine articles on golf subjects that are currently on thirteen different directories on the internet. Some of our articles are now in the public domain on these directories while some of our articles are still under review for publication by the directories editors. While these articles do not cover golf clubs in any detail they are more intended to discuss topics that should be important to golfers for a variety of reasons. Examples of articles we have either had published in these directories or are under editorial review include: how to stay safe on the golf course, how to take notes abut your game as you are playing your round so you can see persistent swing errors or mental errors and hopefully begin to make corrections, what to look for in evaluating a driver either for yourself or your child, the benefits of using belly or long putters, and why you should be using hybrid or rescue clubs instead of your long irons.
